XMViewer™

Back

XMViewer is a tool to insert virtual objects, created by a computer, into the the real world. At a defined position, you can look around and see the virtual objects mixed together with the environment as if they were real. You can use a pair of binoculars or another type of optical instrument to see this effect. The simulation is finally brought out in the reality.

XMViewer can be used for many types of applications, here are some examples:

  • Construction visualization. See the new building in place even before the construction has even started. Which type of bridge fits best at a specific site? Will this wind power station block the view for the residents around?
  • Visualize historical scenes. Travel back in time to visualize what the site looked like hundreds of years ago. Or what did it look like when the Danish fleet sailed towards Sweden in 1644?
  • Millitary training. Simulate a battle on the field in front of you and add tanks, explosions, fighters at exact GPS coordinates, and they will show up in the real world. Construct training missions that would be impossible due to economical reasons, safety issues or environmental risks.
